Let Your Dog Love Life

These photos are of my own dogs- Meggie is the brown dog, Joey the black, and Casey is the light blonde. Meggie, the brown dog, I have had for almost seven years. She was to be euthanized at a shelter- she is now a certified therapy dog. Joey (black) was at an SPCA (luckily a no-kill shelter) for over a year, being adopted and returned several times because no one wanted such a big hyper dog. He has been with us over four years now. He is also a certified therapy dog, but his biggest job is search and rescue training- he is an amazing search dog! Casey (blonde) was owned by my family and she was just too hyper- she needed playmates and she most certainly has them now :) She has been living with us for over a year now, although we've spent a great amount of time with her since she was just a little puppy. She does agility with me, and has recently started out in search training. She doesn't quite do as well as Joey in search training- but she is young, and she will be there someday! As long as they enjoy the task, that is all that matters!

Most shelter dogs can be wonderful dogs- you have to find the right match for you and your lifestyle, then the rest is a piece of cake. My three dogs are all amazing in their own ways. Friendly, playful and I use them for training with my clients' dogs. And they were not wanted by other people for different reasons- but not everyone has the same lifestyle, so it is always worth checking around, you may find your perfect match waiting at a shelter or rescue. Please give a shelter dog a chance- they will change your life and love you forever. You can find mixes and purebreds of all ages and sizes. is the best place to start. And don't forget- I offer FREE evaluations to help you find a dog that is a great match for you.
